The long and drawn out saga of the Florentine site in the heart of Bray’s Town Centre has finally come to an end. The now 1.58 acre site which has been subject to property speculation since 1991 costing €53million has been purchased by Bray town Council for a final figure of 1.95million. The ambitious purchase will now lead to the first steps in getting the site developed regenerating the area.
The site which fronts onto 70 metres of the Main Street and includes 3 period buildings on Eglinton Road and number of small shops on Florence Road, all of which are in strategic locations. The site had been subject to many planning application down through the years and included development of a large scale shopping centre, parking and residential units but never materialised and the site was left derelict for over 20 years.…
