The Carlisle Grounds in Bray will host Ireland’s opening 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier against Slovakia on Sunday, September 22 at 1pm.
The game was originally fixed for Tallaght Stadium but had to be moved due to the EA SPORTS Cup Final between Shamrock Rovers and Drogheda United taking place at the venue the previous day.
The Women’s National Team’s last game in Bray was another World Cup qualifier in 2010 when they beat Israel 3-0 with a hat-trick from striker Fiona O’Sullivan.
Ireland manager Sue Ronan said: “I am looking forward to a great occasion in Bray as I have fond memories of this venue. The game against Israel was my second game as interim coach before being appointed on a full-time basis and a similar result against Slovakia would be very nice.”…
