Bray and District Chamber held their first ever Bank Seminar last Thursday morning in Chamber House. Representatives from Bank of Ireland and AIB were invited to make presentations to Bray Chamber members. Representatives from AIB and BOI gave presentations of sample loans that were both sanctioned and refused and the reason for the end decision, this was to help business owners understand the credit approval system.

Paul Prendergast, Bray Chamber Executive Member, explained his reason for organising the seminar, “I noticed a massive increase in business owners complaining about being refused finance or that their overdraft facilities had been taken away or decreased. As I am in the Financial Services industry myself I decided to investigate this further. Together with the Chamber we sent out questionnaires to our members and the results where so overwhelming that I decided to invite the local banks to make this presentation today”
